TrueMove Notice for California Residents

Effective Date: July 17, 2025

This Notice for California Residents supplements the information contained in our main Privacy Policy and applies solely to visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California ("consumers" or "you"). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this notice.

This notice is designed to help you understand how we collect, use, and share your personal information and how to exercise your rights under California law.

We obtain the categories of personal information listed above from the following sources:

  • Directly from you: For example, from the profile you create, information you provide for account verification, your shipping address for gifts, or your communications with customer support.
  • Indirectly from you: For example, from observing your actions and usage of our application.
  • From other users: For example, if another user provides information about you in a report to our support team.
  • From our Service Providers: For example, our payment processors may provide us with transaction identifiers and summary information to confirm a transaction.

2. How We Use and Share Your Information

We use your personal information for a variety of business purposes, as described in our main Privacy Policy. These purposes include:

  • Providing and Managing Our Services: To create and manage your account, facilitate the sending, customizing, and receiving of gifts, process your direct purchases, and provide customer support.
  • Connecting You with Other Users: To analyze profiles and recommend connections, and to show users' profiles to one another.
  • Improving Our Services and Platform Integrity: To conduct research, administer surveys, develop new features, and ensure users comply with our gifting and safety policies.
  • Safety and Security: To verify accounts, prevent and detect fraud or other misbehavior, and fight against illegal or unauthorized activities.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with legal requirements, assist law enforcement, and enforce our rights as outlined in our Terms of Service.
  • First-Party Marketing: To promote products or special offers available exclusively within the TrueMove store. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

"Selling" and "Sharing" of Personal Information

TrueMove's business model is built on facilitating genuine connections through our integrated e-commerce platform. We do not "sell" your personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration. Furthermore, we do not "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not show third-party advertisements in our app.

3. Your Rights and Choices

The CCPA provides California residents with specific rights regarding their personal information. This section describes your CCPA rights and explains how to exercise them.

  • Right to Know and Access: You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months.
  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions (such as completing a transaction, detecting security incidents, or complying with a legal obligation).
  • Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: As we do not sell or share your personal information, there is no need to opt out.
  • Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: You have the right to direct us to limit our use of your sensitive personal information to that which is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods reasonably expected by an average consumer. You can exercise this right through your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

4. How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise the rights to know, delete, or correct as described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by using the tools within your account settings or by emailing us at support@truemove.app.

Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information.

We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. Making a verifiable consumer request does not require you to create an account with us, though we may need to ask for sufficient information to locate your data.

5. Other California Privacy Notices

Do Not Track

Some web browsers may transmit "do-not-track" signals. We do not currently take action in response to these signals.

Shine the Light

California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our App that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. As stated above, we do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
